Greetings!
This blog is a continuation, in part, of my previous blog hosted by the California Digital Library. Its move here, to a site graciously donated by the University of California Berkeley Library, presages my move into the role of Executive Director for the Digital Library Federation.
I will be using this blog to share of my musings and speculations, and hope the reader will acknowledge the fragmentary and often inchoate nature of my thoughts, as expressed here. This is a space on which only rarely will I take the time to make formal announcements.
The next couple of months will give me plenty of practice in striving to establish an initial vision and set of directions for DLF. For example, on January 30, I am scheduled to conduct an Educause Live! broadcast, and at least tentatively, I will speak at the UC Berkeley I-School on Friday, March 2, from 3:00 - 5:00 PST. I am hoping there may be some additional on-going venues as well, and I will let you know what they are, as they surface.
In the short term, I hope to be able to blog about a couple of things that are percolating in the world right now, and I'll get back to those as quickly as possible. In the meantime, thanks for joining me here; we'll have an interesting ride. As my Texas forefathers would say, "We done picked a wild one."
It's going to be fun.
