Latin American Knowledge Harvester: This database indexes abstracts of articles, books, and book chapters about or from Latin America that deal with social medicine in Latin America. The materials indexed here look at the social, economic, and cultural determinants of health, and the organized responses to confront the problems. These citations and abstracts are generally available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Data: help is here!

Do you need access to statistical software? Are you trying to locate political, demographic, economic, or financial data? If so, you may want to schedule a visit the new Library Data Lab. Located in room 189 Doe Library (on the first floor, between the south entrance and the Circulation Desk; pdf map), the Data Lab provides access to a growing collection of electronic data and tools including Thomson DataStream and Current Population Surveys Utilities, and offers analytical software such as SAS, SPSS, and Stata. A limited number of laptops are available for checkout for in-lab use.  The lab is open to all UC Berkeley students, faculty,  and staff.  For more information, visit the Data Lab website or email. EndNote Class Next Week!

EndNote X2: October 14, 1-2:30 pm, 350C Moffitt Library

No need to register; however, you will need your UCB ID to enter Moffitt Library.

EndNote is a program you can use to store citations and other items you find during your research. It integrates with Microsoft Word to automatically format citations and bibliographies according to the style you have selected.

We will cover how to:
1. Set up an EndNote library and configure displays
2. Add citations manually and from databases (e.g. PubMed)
3. Find full text automatically from your EndNote library
4. Use EndNote with Word
5. And more!

EndNote is available for purchase at The Scholar's Workstation for only $69.99.  You do not need to have purchased EndNote to take this class, and users of previous version of EndNote are welcome to attend.
