Intl Open Access Week, Oct. 22-28
The Library is sponsoring special events during Open Access Week and all are invited to attend!
Two events of particular interest for faculty and researchers in the sciences:
- Open Access at UC: Maximizing the Reach, Visibility and Impact of Your Research, A Faculty Conversation on Scholarly Communication with Richard Schneider (UCSF), Tuesday, Oct. 23, 3:30-5:00pm, Education-Psychology Library
- Publish Smart, Maximize Impact: Sciences, Thursday, Oct. 25, 11:00am-12:30pm, Engineering Library

SCOAP3 Edges closer to goal

Moving toward its goal, SCOAP3, the Sponsoring Consortium for Open Access Publishing in Particle Physics, announced article processing charges for twelve journals. CERN and the publishers also announced that all articles in high-energy physics would be open access from 2014, in return for a yearly fee paid by the publishers & library partners.
