Text cloud: what are we saying?

A while back, Mia Jaeggli submitted an excellent post about tag clouds for the blog. It inspired me to run the full text of our blog through TagCrowd to see what words appear most frequently. You can view the results (minus common words) as a text cloud on the New Directions website. I think it produced some interesting results.

Unlike a tag cloud, this text cloud is static - but I will update it again after the speaker presentation and discussion group reports have been posted. Watch for a reminder after the update.

Thanks for the text cloud. I think this are quite intriguing. I find myself using them on another blogsite to identify then track back to topics that I'm interested in.

I notice that this is word based, not phrase based...so "open access" doesn't appear, by "open" and "access" do...takes a bit of knowledgeable sleuthing then.

Very cool in any case.

I like how it gives a quick (even if not perfect) feel for what terms are most on our minds.
