The Journal of Art Historiography is a new peer-reviewed online open access journal.  Published by the University of Glasgow, its mission (as stated on its webpage) "...exists to support and promote the study of the history and practice of art historical writing. The historiography of art has been strongly influenced by traditions inaugurated by Giogrio Vasari, Winckelmann and German academics of the 19th and early 20th centuries.  Consequent to the expansion of universities, museums and galleries, the field has evolved to include areas outside of its traditional boundaries."  The journal will include both peer-reviewed and commissioned articles.  Its extensive international Editorial Advisory Board includes faculty from two University of California campuses:  Robert Williams, Swati Chattopadhyay (UCSB) and Gregory Levine (UCB).  Click to view the first issue:  http://www.gla.ac.uk/departments/arthistoriography/ which includes an interview/essay about Michael Baxandall by Allan Langdale (UCSC).
